Newcastle is really interested in the “complete striker,” and they believe Eddie Howe will make him much better.

Newcastle United will need to acquire a replacement if they plan to let Callum Wilson depart. Callum Wilson, 32, has made it quite plain that he wants to stay at St James’ Park, but there are presently rumors that he may be leaving this summer.

The Magpies will need to bring in another striker, and Benjamin Sesko is one name that has been linked. Geordie Boot Boys have also been informed that Tammy Abraham has been offered to Newcastle, as he eyes a return to England. Now, a new report has provided details of another possible option for Eddie Howe, and it may not be one that will greatly excite Toon fans. Nevertheless, it makes business sense to let him go given his age and contract situation, and it looks like common sense is going to win out.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin will once again be of interest to Newcastle United. The Telegraph claims that while signing a winger this summer is Newcastle United’s first goal, they will also be searching for a striker in the event that Callum Wilson leaves. Additionally, they state that Dominic Calvert-Lewin, an Everton forward, is one candidate the Magpies are considering to replace him.The 27-year-old has had a difficult few years at Goodison Park, scoring just 15 goals in his last three Merseyside seasons across all competitions. Although it is a dismal total, the Telegraph reports that Newcastle feels they can get much more out of Calvert-Lewin and are certain that with Eddie Howe at the helm, he will score more goals. If Calvert-Lewin can turn back the years, he would be a fantastic addition to Newcastle. Calvert-Lewin would not be a terrific addition to Howe’s team based on recent history. This season, he has seven Premier League goals, compared to just two the previous season. In addition, he has struggled with injuries.

Newcastle needs a player they can count on to stay healthy if they want to replace the injury-prone Wilson. There will be concerns that Calvert-Lewin is unreliable in avoiding injuries, and Newcastle’s decision not to sign him in 2022, despite his being a top target, was somewhat influenced by his fitness record.

But when he’s healthy and playing for a manager who believes in him, Calvert-Lewin has shown in the past what a fantastic striker he can be. During the Italian manager’s one and only season at Goodison Park, Calvert-Lewin scored 21 goals in all competitions, demonstrating the best performance from him under Carlo Ancelotti.

Calvert-Lewin was adored by Ancelotti, who even referred to him as the “complete striker.” Since Ancelotti’s departure, he has seldom lived up to that moniker, but maybe Howe has the abilities to return him to his old glory. Given that Newcastle has improved so much as a team and that Isak’s reputation has suffered, the England international is the perfect candidate to serve as his backup. Calvert-Lewin would likely benefit from the opportunity to be Newcastle’s backup striker, and you have to assume he would be eager to seize it if it presented itself. If Newcastle decides to transfer, there would be a lot of doubts among the supporters.
