Dan Rice is set for a surprise move to Wycombe Wanderers after handing in his notice at Everton recently, according to Alan Nixon.
The emerging talent scout only arrived at Goodison Park from his previous role at Southampton last year but is moving on to the ambitious League One club already.
Nixon reported the news on his Patreon page, with Rice set to take up a leading senior role at his new club after he quits Everton.
Everton set for summer of change after Rice departs for Wycombe
Everton could look entirely different from top to bottom on the first day of next season, with potentially new owners and a new-look squad going into 2024-25.
Rice’s departure from the club’s scouting team marks yet another area of operations that will have a new make-up next season, with prospective club buyers 777 Partners approaching new lenders to get its takeover sorted quickly.
The most pressing aspect of this is undoubtedly the Bramley-Moore Dock Stadium site, which currently sits unfinished as 777 and MSP Capital work towards the repayment of a loan crucial to the American investment fund completing their takeover.
Sean Dyche’s future is also up in the air as Everton – not helped by two points deductions for profit and sustainability breaches – fight against Premier League relegation, with changes also taking place behind the scenes already.
With a takeover, stadium build, and squad overhaul all on Everton’s to-do list this summer, everyone can only wait and see how the club will handle the newest vacancy in their scouting department.
In other Everton news, Nottingham Forest made a scathing social media post following their defeat to the Toffees at Goodison Park.
