Nottingham Forest appeal could end in 'disaster' - sources

Nottingham Forest may receive news regarding the outcome of their points deduction appeal by the end of this week. According to senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke on Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, this update could be crucial for Forest in their fight against relegation this season. The appeal hearing occurred on 24th April, but there has been no official announcement yet regarding the success of the appeal.

O’Rourke emphasized the importance of promptly disclosing the verdict to maintain the league’s integrity. Nottingham Forest remains hopeful of reclaiming some of the deducted points.

Currently, Nuno Espirito Santo’s team is just above the relegation zone, with Luton Town, one point behind, also battling to stay in the Premier League.

Forest awaits anxiously to learn the outcome of their appeal, as any point gained would be valuable at this stage.

The club was penalized with a four-point deduction in March for violating the Premier League’s spending regulations.

Additionally, Everton faced an eight-point deduction this season for breaching financial fair play rules but managed to secure their place in the top flight due to their improved performance.
