Okay Yokuslu has a UEFA EURO 2024 round of 16 tie to look forward to after helping Turkiye to a 2-1 victory over Czechia on Wednesday night.
The Baggies midfielder came off the bench just past the hour mark in Hamburg, replacing Fenerbahce’s Ismail Yuksek.
Czechia’s Antonin Barak was dismissed as early as the 20th minute in the final Group F fixture, but it took Okay’s nation until the 51st minute to find the opener through Internazionale star Hakan Calhanoglu.
Tomas Soucek equalised for the ten men on 66 minutes, however an injury-time strike from forward Cenk Tosun won the encounter for the 2008 semi-finalists and sent them through to the knockouts as group runners-up.
Turkiye and Yokuslu face Austria in Leipzig on Tuesday, July 2 (ko 8pm), with the winners advancing to the last eight where they’ll come up against either Romania or Netherlands.
