Rewa was the star of the Fiji Football Association Awards, winning five prizes at yesterday’s ceremony at the Crowne Plaza. In addition to winning Team of the Year, Female Futsal Player of the Year, and Administrator of the Year, the Delta Tigers also took home the two major prizes, 2024 Male Footballer of the Year and 2024 Female Footballer of the Year.
Although Buksh thinks the team is capable of winning “clean sweeps” in regional tournaments, he also admits that more needs to be done. “The fans have set a challenge for us to do well in every competition in which we compete. It’s a challenging task. The players endure a great deal of mental and physical strain, but I am truly appreciative of all the honors and accomplishments that Rewa has made thus far. According to him, the players endured a demanding season that put physical strain on them and frequently caused them to lose focus. Nevertheless, the group keeps working on these issues and succeeds.
According to Buksh, the management is still pleased of the players’ accomplishments and continues to support them despite financial and resource difficulties. Finance and resources have been a problem for all the districts, not just Rewa.We depend on gate-takings and sponsors, and it has proven difficult for us to obtain all of those in a timely and sufficient manner. Additionally, he expressed gratitude to Extra Supermarket for sponsoring the team.
