Patrick Kane returned to Chicago for the first time since being traded last season. Kane explained what he saw on his overtime game-winning goal
Pierre LeBrun of TSN reports that Patrick Kane and the Red Wings are nearing an agreement that would send the former Chicago Blackhawks forward back to Detroit for a single season.
The Red Wings signed Kane to a one-year contract in November of 2023, following his June 1, 2023 hip resurfacing procedure. He averaged 18:22 minutes on the ice per game while scoring 20 goals and 27 assists for a total of 47 points in just 50 games. Alex DeBrincat, a longtime friend and former linemate of Kane’s who was dealt to Detroit from Ottawa in the 2023 summer, will once more be together. They’ll keep trying to duplicate the magic they had together in Chicago with the Red Wings. On February 25, after returning to Chicago, Kane scored the game-winning overtime goal to help the Red Wings defeat the Blackhawks 3-2 on the night Chris Chelios retired his jersey.
