In connection with an alleged domestic violence incident that happened last month, NSW Police reported at approximately five in the morning on Saturday that a male, 22, had been arrested at an apartment close to Penrith.

According to a statement, “Police were notified at approximately 9 p.m. on Monday, April 8, 2024, the man allegedly assaulted a woman he knew during an argument at a home in Werrington.”

He is accused of punching her in the leg and face.

“After being brought to the Penrith Police Station, the man was charged with two counts of stalking and intimidation with the intent to fear physical harm (DV) and assault resulting in actual bodily harm (DV).”

May, 22, committed to Penrith through at least the end of 2026 when she signed a contract extension in March of this year.

He is not going to play in this weekend’s NRL Magic Round in Brisbane.

Following the public announcement of May’s arrest on Saturday, the Panthers issued a statement.

The Penrith Panthers are aware of a purported incident involving player Taylan May that has led to charges from the police.

Panthers will assist with the investigation and have notified the NRL Integrity Unit.

“The club will not be making any further comments at this time as this is a legal matter.”

May explained earlier this month why he got the word “pain” permanently inked beneath his right eye.

May told the Sydney Morning Herald, “It’s basically a bit of a message for everything I’ve been through.”
