Years of rivalry in this area have come to an end with the deal, with Rangers escalating tensions by reducing Celtic’s Old Firm ticket allocation in 2018.

James Bisgrove, though, has squashed any idea from the Celtic camp that Rangers may raise their allocation any further, given that all of that is about to change come football season.

Even if the Parkhead side was given about 2500 seats at Ibrox, it seems like there are still too few.
“This is fantastic news for everyone,” Rogers exclaimed. “This club has definitely supported it for a number of years. It’s due of the supporters and the fixture’s iconic quality.

“The goal at Celtic was never to change it, so it would be fantastic news for everyone if it could return to its previous state before being altered.”
James Bisgrove dashes hopes for a Celtics ticket
James Bisgrove has learned the hard way about the complexities of the well-known rivalry between the Rangers and Celtics.
The group led by Bisgrove, the club’s former director of commercial affairs, arranged the infamous Sydney Super Cup friendly that never happened.
The Englishman gained a promotion to the top position in the Ibrox executive team by bouncing back, and the Rangers board is confident he has learned his lesson.
Speaking as a member of the Ibrox Fans’ Forum, Bisgrove effectively encapsulated the feelings of Rangers supporters by giving them a forum to discuss their grievances with influential club figures.
Brendan Rodgers and Celtic may attempt to placate their supporters by releasing soundbites on the previous Old Firm ticket distribution.
However, Rangers and James Bisgrove are well aware that anyone who believes the Ibrox side will be handing up another seat to their Old Firm rivals at the renowned stadium is dreaming.
The remarks are provided by the Four Lads Had a Dream blog, which paraphrased the contributions and covered in detail the main points of contention from the Ibrox supporters’ forum on their website.
“Starting in the upcoming season, the Old Firm allocation will be 5%,” stated Bisgrove. The club believes that there need to be away supporters at all times. Zero could not make it work.
“The decision came after dialogue with Police, Sky, and the League, and we are satisfied with outcome.
“It’s an unfortunate consequence for the fans moving but the key focus to ensure they have a number of options.
“It will be a positive for the spectacle. But we will never go beyond 5%. If we hadn’t engaged another number higher could have been imposed on us which wouldn’t have been acceptable.”
The date of the final Old Firm clash of the season – which will be played at Celtic Park without away fans – has just been announced.
