According to reports, Rangers are seeking payment in exchange for letting James Bisgrove relocate to Saudi Arabia.
After 13 months at Ibrox, the Rangers CEO resigned, and he is now set to join the recently promoted Al Qadsiah, who are controlled by Saudi oil giants Aramco. In a statement released on Thursday, the Glasgow Giants’ board announced Bisgrove’s retirement. John Bennett assumed executive chairman duties to manage the transfer window and usher in a new chapter for the Scottish Premiership-winning team.
The Rangers Review state that “discussions over a financial deal are ongoing” when Bisgrove told the leadership he was leaving to play in the Saudi Pro League, with Rangers seeking to recover a six-figure fee. The would enable Bisgrove to conclude his five-year tenure with the Light Blues and relocate “as soon as possible” to the Middle East.
As things stand, Bennett will take on his new responsibilities temporarily to maintain continuity, with Bisgrove remaining for a few weeks to help with the changeover, while they concentrate on carrying out summertime preparations both on and off the pitch.After adding Jefte during the transfer window, Philippe Clement is currently rebuilding.
