Rangers are in “very advanced” talks to sign Ferencvaros forward Adama Traore in a deal worth £3.5m, according to AfricaFoot.
Writing on their website (26 May), the news outlet report that the 28-year-old winger is a target for Philippe Clement as he looks to improve his attacking options at Ibrox.
The club and player are said to be very close to agreeing personal terms and signing a contract, with the Mali international having helped the Hungarian side to a second consecutive league championship.
Rangers adding to Ibrox attack early this summer
The club have already confirmed the arrival of young left-back Jefte, and Jose Cordoba and Liam Kelly are expected to follow closely behind as Clement makes his moves early.
But the attack is an area that needs strengthening, but exits had looked more likely recently than incoming.
Sam Lammers is wanted permanently by FC Urtecht, Abdallah Sima has returned to Brighton after his loan ended although the club want to re-sign him, while a decision was made on Fabio Silva that means he won’t come back to Ibrox.
Add to that the fact the futures of Tom Lawrence, Kieran Dowell and Scott Wright are also up in the air, attackers need to come in sooner or later and Traore could provide that quality.
He has been described as “magical” in the report, and with 14 goals this season he knows where the net is. This is one for fans to keep an eye on for sure.
