BREAKING NEWS: Rangers twist of transfer turn into tension

McLean’s agent responds to Rangers claims

There have been rumors that the Rangers refused to give an elderly Kenny McLean a long-term deal.

With a one-year option to extend, the midfield player’s contract with Norwich City currently guarantees him employment until 2026, therefore guaranteeing him three years of enormous salaries at the English Championship yo-yo side.

Although joining the Rangers would be very appealing to a bluenose, the large salaries that are offered in the south will require the financial scales to tip a bit more in favor of the north.

On social networking site X, the midfielder’s agent, however, has dismissed the entire conversation while it is taking place in public.

In reaction to these contract claims, Alan Houldsworth, who oversaw McLean’s most recent contract extension at Carrow Road, has sent a string of amusing memes.

Although we can’t say for sure if this indicates the transaction is on, off, or was never real in the first place, it does indicate that the story being told in the media right now is blatantly false.

Rangers seeking experience through a transfer

Regarding Kenny McLean’s near future, that will become evident in due course as the Rangers are still seeking experience and the transfer window is still open.

Following his selection as Norwich’s Player of the Year in the previous campaign and his country’s participation at Euro 2024, the Scotland international is currently enjoying some well-earned relaxation.

Meanwhile, Rangers manager Philippe Clement has stated in the open that additional experience would be added to the Ibrox roster in the upcoming weeks.

“We lost five players and didn’t receive any money because we had five players leave the building at the end of their contract,” Clement remarked.

“However, we were concentrating on everything right now, and while it was simpler to bring in the younger players, experience will also be joining the building throughout the transfer season.

“We need to have a well-balanced squad for both teams, but it was crucial to identify these young players because they have some exciting future prospects.”

Thus far, Rangers have expanded their roster from the previous season to include Scotland U21 midfielder Connor Barron (Aberdeen), French defender Clinton Nsiala (AC Milan), Brazilian left-back Jefte (Fluminense), and Scotland goalkeeper Liam Kelly (Motherwell).

Ivorian prodigy Mohamed Diomande (FC Nordsjaelland) has signed a permanent contract, and Oscar Cortes (RC Lens), a Colombian winger, has agreed to a loan-to-buy agreement.
