Rangers v Dundee: Simon Jordan delivers ‘remarkably pompous’ verdict amid SPFL chaos
Simon Jordan has given his opinion following the rescheduling of Rangers’ Scottish Premiership match against Dundee due to a waterlogged pitch. The club expressed their frustration to the SPFL, accusing Dundee of negligence and unprofessionalism. Rangers, eager to surpass Celtic in the league standings, had hoped to capitalize on their postponed game against Dundee.
Jordan, speaking on talkSPORT, remarked on the irony of Rangers’ situation, highlighting their ongoing dispute with Celtic over fan allocations. He questioned the need for Rangers’ strong stance, suggesting it may be driven by fan disappointment. He criticized Rangers’ approach, considering their own unresolved issues and labeled it as pompous and condescending.
Regarding Dundee’s potential punishment, Rangers are understandably displeased with the repeated postponements, affecting their league position. Despite fans’ optimism, the match was called off again, disrupting Rangers’ crucial game in hand and their pursuit of the league title.
Disagreeing with Jordan’s view, it seems unfair to suggest Rangers cannot voice their frustrations due to their own disputes with Celtic. Additionally, scheduling a match against Dundee before a significant fixture against Celtic at Ibrox was impractical for Rangers and coach Philippe Clement.
