Alan Pardew, the former manager of Newcastle, hasn’t ruled out going back into management after being unexpectedly connected to the Burnley position. Recently demoted from the Premier League, the Clarets are searching for a new manager following Vincent Kompany’s departure to join Bayern Munich. Frank Lampard, the former head coach of Chelsea, is reportedly a candidate for the Turf Moor position, while the Sun reported that Pardew had received a call from the Championship team.
After leaving Greek team Aris FC last year, Pardew—who has also managed Southampton, West Ham, and Crystal Palace—has remained unemployed. In a TalkSport interview, Pardew was asked if he would take over as Burnley manager. He said, “Well, it obviously isn’t me.” If not, it would be declared publicly!”
If nothing else, it’s wonderful to have a connection with them. They have adequate money, a well-organized ownership group, and a decent roster, so perhaps they stand a better chance of making a comeback than Leicester did the previous season. Therefore, I believe that whoever is hired will have a fantastic opportunity.
I think it’s a fantastic challenge because I want to lead a side back to the Premier League. I achieved my goal of preparing Southampton and West Ham for a return to the Premier League. I would therefore be receptive to it. I’m not sure if that is known or if that is just a rumor that has spread instead of the real connection. “I wouldn’t tell you if I had,” Pardew grinned in response to the question of whether he had spoken with Burnley.
