Report: Arsenal preparing surprise move for Wolves player who was ‘excellent’ against Gunners last season

One Wolves man, who is unlikely to feature much at all, may relish the chance to come to the Emirates, and Arsenal is getting ready to make a surprise move for him.

Since Arsenal has already missed out on the Premier League championship two years in a row, Mikel Arteta and Edu will be searching for the players who they believe will help them win the championship a third time around.

Naturally, Arsenal is planning a move to get Riccardo Calafiori. However, there is still work to be done behind the defense, as Aaron Ramsdale, who lost his starting position to David Raya, has been linked to a move elsewhere.

Raya has been at the top of Brentford’s rankings since the Bees sold Daniel Bentley to Bristol City, so Ramsdale is not the only player to lose his spot to him over the years.

Daniel Bentley might make a surprise move to Arsenal.

It’s interesting to note that The Sun on Sunday, July 7, page 57, reported that Arsenal is considering to make a bid for Bentley as cover for Raya, suggesting that they would have the opportunity to play together starting next season.

Bentley has only made five Premier League appearances since arriving to Molineux during his two years at Wolves, where he has filled in for Jose Sa.

If he moves to Arsenal during this transfer window, he might, however, find himself even lower on the hierarchy.

The Wolves player’s thoughts on the possibility of being Arsenal’s third choice

According to a story in The Sun, Arsenal is having trouble finding a buyer for Ramsdale, and the Gunners are asking for £50 million for the England international. As a result, Bentley may wind up going third. However, the story implies that he might still be amenable to the transfer in that case.

Naturally, Arteta would want to keep Ramsdale and Raya, but Arsenal could not be too upset if the latter pushed for a transfer; after all, the money he would bring in from his departure would undoubtedly bolster other parts of the team.

If a deal can be reached, it might be a wise move for Wolves since they shouldn’t ask for a high price for their backup goalkeeper, who Gary O’Neil has called “excellent” following a performance against Arsenal.
