Rugby: Sorovi up for selection as Drua brace for Moana

Swire Transport Moana Pasifika’s performance in the Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific season has impressed Fijian Drua coach Mick Byrne.

Though the Drua are currently ranked seventh, Byrne expressed his love for the team and said Moana Pasifika, who are currently ranked eighth, will be firing on all cylinders this coming weekend in Lautoka.

According to Byrne, they are aware of the team’s physicality because they have seen Moana a few times.

They are a real bunch. They are somewhat physical when it comes to their scrum, you know. They enjoy attempting to push it away. Therefore, we have been working on that today. similar to what happened with hurricanes last week.

He claims that as the battle heats up, the Drua also spent an extra day getting ready, assessing their shortcomings following last week’s loss to the Hurricanes.

Byrne adds that the team is free of any serious injuries.

Moses Sorovi, a former halfback for the Reds, is also available for selection this weekend, he says.

The Drua take on Moana Pasifika in Lautoka on Saturday.
