In the Super W final matchup against the Waratahs this weekend, Bitila Tawake has pushed her way into the starting lineup for the Rooster Chicken Fijian Drua Women.
Tawake, who competed for the Chiefs Manawa team in this year’s Super Rugby Aupiki championship in New Zealand, had only recently joined the squad during the 25-14 semi-final victory over the Western Force.
When the Fijian Drua Women won the Super W title in their first season in 2022 and again the following year, the 25-year-old was captain of the team.
Coach Mosese Rauluni has only made one alteration: Tawake has Salanieta Nabuli replace Ana Korovata as loose head prop.
While the starting back-row trio of Nunia Daunimoala, Sulita Waisega, and captain Karalaini Naisewa has been kept, Keleni Marawa will start at hooker.
Merewalesi Rokouno and Vani Arei will hold the midfield, while Setaita Railumu will play with Jennifer Ravutia in the halves.
Star fullback Atelaite Buna will once again wear the number 15 shirt, while speedsters Adita Milina and Merewairita Neivosa will team up on the wings.
Litia Marama, Loraini Senivutu, Tiana Robanakadavu, Mereoni Nakesa, Fulori Rotagavira, Evivi Senikarivi, Salanieta Kinita, and Repeka Tove are covering from the bench.
The Fijian Drua Women will take on the Waratahs in the Super W final at 4pm on Sunday at Ballymore Stadium in Brisbane and you can watch the match live on FBC Sports.
