Russell Martin, the Men’s First Team Manager at Southampton Football Club, has inked a three-year extension.

It follows his successful leadership of the team to promotion from the Championship, which guaranteed the team’s May return to Wembley Stadium in the Premier League.

The agreement, according to the team, shows a “strengthening commitment” to Martin as preseason training gets underway this week. The agreement is valid through the 2027 summer.

Martin led Saints to a fourth-place result this season, including an unprecedented 25-game unbeaten streak, after being appointed last summer.

Following a ‘incredible’ streak, St Mary’s rejoices as Southampton returns to the Premier League Football Club, almost setting a century-old record.
“First of all, I’m really grateful to the owners and to Phil [Parsons],” stated Russell Martin. They wanted to talk to me and the coaching staff about a long-term plan when the season ended, which gave me the impression that we were all on the same page and that we were going to attack the Premier League, which is extremely exciting.

It’s been an incredible year, so I want to thank them for their dedication, for their genuine belief in what we’ve accomplished, and for their support thus far. I’m really looking forward to carrying on with the trip.

“As a club, I think we’ve all learned a ton together, and I’m really looking forward to the upcoming season.”

“We were confident when Russell was appointed that he would be an excellent fit for the club, and his first 12 months here have certainly shown that to be the case,” stated Henrik Kraft, chairman of Southampton FC.

He ended one of the most competitive Championship seasons in history with a promotion, demonstrating his tremendously good influence both on and off the field.

“We thought it was appropriate to emphasize our devotion to one another as we return to the Premier League and in light of our accomplishments from the previous year.

“We are thrilled to see how the team rises to the challenge that lies ahead this year under Russell’s continued guidance, even though we are aware that historically, Russell Martin extends his three-year deal as manager of Southampton FC
