Savea alerts Drua of a threat.

Julian Savea, a former All Black and Moana Pasifika center, has cautioned about the challenge that the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua present, particularly in light of their defeat to the Hurricanes at home last week in Suva.

The Moana team landed this afternoon in preparation for their exciting matchup with the Drua in the Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific in Lautoka.

Thinking back to a past match in which his squad experienced loss, Savea admits the difficulty of taking on the Drua in Fiji.

We’re going in very, really prepared, and mentally, it’s just about turning up and making sure we have some great intensity to match the fans here and the way the Fijian Drua play. I believe the Fijian Drua have constructed a fortress here, and everyone knows it’s hard to play here.

The former All Blacks winger, though, is certain that his club can step up to the plate.

Savea says he is confident his group can equal the Drua’s ferocity and expertise.

He also says it’s a crucial match for both teams who are in contention for a playoff spot.

The Drua play Moana Pasifika at 2.00pm on Saturday at Churchill Park in Lautoka.
