Crawley Town’s start to the season has been outstanding.
Nine goals have been scored by seven different players in two league victories, one Carabao Cup victory, and an EFL Trophy bonus point win. All of the players have been excellent, but one guy in particular—who has participated in every minute of every game thus far—may have stood out a little bit more.
Josh Flint left FC Volendam to sign in the summer. For Lindsey, he was the obvious choice to take Laurence Maguire’s spot on the left back three.
Furthermore, the former Portsmouth defender has emerged as a key player in Scott Lindsey’s scheme of things. His performances have drawn notice, and he is currently ranked sixth among League One’s top performers with a rating of 7.98 in a list compiled by the website whoscored.com following the first round of play. Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan of Reading is ranked highest with an 8.53.
