Sean Dyche signing plan on hold after new Everton takeover twist – O’Rourke Pete O’Rourke, Transfer Correspondent Pete O’Rourke, Transfer Correspondent

Since the Everton takeover is still up in the air, Sean Dyche is unable to make plans for next season. Speaking on the most recent episode of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior writer Pete O’Rourke disclosed that by keeping the Toffees in the Premier League this season, Dyche has avoided a possible “disaster” at Goodison Park.

Everton has now, thanks to some form at the ideal moment, mathematically guaranteed their place in the top division for another term. The club’s long-term future is still up in the air, meanwhile, since 777 Partners, which agreed to pay £500 million last September to buy Farhad Moshiri’s 94.1% ownership in the team, is having difficulty closing the deal.

Farhad Moshiri could hold fresh talks over Everton takeover

The US investment business has now given Everton more than £200 million after sending a £16 million payment that was overdue for daily operating expenses. According to O’Rourke, it may have been part of Moshiri’s “masterplan” to let the Miami-based business cover the club’s expenses until a different interested party decides to take over at Goodison.

The fact that the Toffees will play in the Premier League for another year will probably be helpful in any talks with possible new owners. After dealing with an eight-point deduction and a tight budget this season, Dyche will be eager for things to be cleared up behind the scenes during the upcoming weeks.
