Summer switch... Rams old boy Max Lowe is leaving Sheffield United

Before Sheffield United returns to the Championship, five players have been released, including former Derby County defender Max Lowe.

Ex-Ram Lowe, Chris Basham, George Baldock, Oliver Norwood, and Wes Foderingham will all be leaving the Blades this summer, the team has confirmed. The news is made as the Blades get ready to reassemble their team after being demoted from the Premier League. They play Spurs on Sunday in their season finale.

The Blades can confirm that Chris Basham, George Baldock, Oliver Norwood, Wes Foderingham, and Max Lowe will depart the club when their contracts expire this summer, according to a statement released by United.

“Having contributed to the Blades’ victories throughout their tenure at Bramall Lane, the aforementioned players will all start new chapters in their careers after this campaign ends.

“They have combined for nine promotions over their Blades careers, and the club feels it is appropriate to announce this information before the campaign concludes so that they can be recognised by Unitedites for their accomplishments. Since Sunday’s match against Tottenham Hotspur is United’s last game of the season, the five will receive extra recognition and tributes on the team’s digital platforms.
