SHOCKING NEWS: Detroit Lions are now the first to do this…

It’s still unlikely to happen, but the Lions may have someone in their corner to recruit Maxx Crosby.

Maxx Crosby was committed to the Las Vegas Raiders prior to Davante Adams being traded, and remarks made by owner Mark Davis supported the notion that Crosby would not be traded. However, he made a very slight move to leave last week. His facial expression is just as significant as the remark itself.

To be honest, the Raiders ought to sell at the trade deadline. The possibility of a significant profit must be alluring, even though they can and should demand a high price for Crosby. Among these are: What would one sacrifice? How much would the Raiders pay out of Crosby’s remaining funds? Would he request a trade before the deadline of November 5th?

The Lions are unlikely to pay the price to get Crosby from the Raiders, given how highly general manager Brad Holmes values draft capital—and rightfully so.
Beyond Crosby’s connections to Michigan and his stated fondness for their current situation, the Lions appear to have an advantage if they need one in any potential pursuit of him.

Maxx Crosby could be recruited to Detroit by a former Lions player.
Crosby is close to Lions radio sideline reporter T.J. Lang, who also played for the team and attended the same college (Eastern Michigan).

Lang didn’t precisely rule out discussing the possibility of being dealt to the Lions with Crosby during Friday’s episode of “The Mike Valenti Show with Rico” on 97.1 The Ticket.
Later on Twitter, Lang stated that he wants what’s best for Crosby, acknowledging the Lions’ prejudice in that regard. However, it is clear that Lang would never give Crosby instructions.
Due to a number of factors, Crosby’s chances of being moved to the Lions are extremely slim until further notice. The Lions have a slight recruiting advantage over other possible trade suitors, though, since he might question Lang about life in Detroit or the inner workings of the franchise.
