The Ohio State football team recently achieved their season-highest victory. In the biggest victory of Ryan Day’s career, they defeated Penn State 20–13. He desperately needed that victory, and Ohio State feels like a real contender for the national championship today.
The Ohio State Buckeyes rose to third place in the rankings as a result of their victory over the Nittany Lions. When your next game is against one of the poorest teams in the Big Ten, it’s difficult to avoid feeling disappointed after all that excitement. On Saturday, this team will have to deal with precisely that.
When Purdue arrives in town, they are a genuinely awful squad. Their season record is merely 1-7. In the season opener against Indiana State, they only managed one victory. In the middle of the season, they also let go of their offensive coordinator. What do the Buckeyes stand to gain from them?
When playing Purdue, the Ohio State football team must avoid disappointing fans.
It’s difficult to concentrate on an opponent this strong after such an emotional victory. This week, Ryan Day has to get his team to accomplish it.As a freshman, Jeremiah Smith won’t have any trouble doing that. He recently smashed the freshman receiving record held by Cris Carter.
Smith should score more yards in this game. The Boilermakers just cannot match Ohio State’s defensive capabilities. On offence, the Buckeyes should be able to achieve almost anything they desire. Purdue will also have difficulties.
The second half of this game should see a lot of playing time for the backups. In the third quarter, I would be surprised if they didn’t start using some backups. Initially, Ohio State was a 38.5-point favourite. As the week progresses, it can rise even more.
