Former West Ham United midfielder Alex Král, who joined Espanyol on loan from Union Berlin during the summer transfer window, recently reflected on his time at West Ham in an interview with *Mundo Deportivo*.
Král was loaned to West Ham from Spartak Moscow during the 2021/22 season when David Moyes was the manager. However, his time at the club was limited, as he only accumulated 256 minutes of play across six matches in all competitions, with just a single minute in the Premier League.
When asked by *Mundo Deportivo* about his lack of playing time at West Ham, Král was candid in his criticism of Moyes. He explained that he never received a clear explanation from the coach: “It’s difficult to say, because I never got an explanation from the coach [Moyes]. But it’s something I’ve already forgotten.”
Král added, “I can’t say we had a bad relationship, it was simply non-existent. We hardly spoke. When I asked him what was wrong, he said nothing was wrong. I also have to say that the results when I was there were very good, so there was no reason to change anything either.”
West Ham parted ways with Moyes at the end of last season, appointing Julen Lopetegui as his replacement. The Hammers have had a mixed start to the season, collecting four points from their first four league games.
Král, on the other hand, has already made five league appearances for Espanyol in La Liga.
