Grant Gallagher and Scott Robertson’s testimonial match featured a memorable display by past and present Stranraer players at the Eco Gen Stadium, despite challenging gale force winds.
The event included current SPFL players like Partick Thistle’s Kyle Turner and David Mitchell, along with former crowd favorites such as Michael Moore, Lee Sharp, and Allan Jenkins, who delivered nostalgic performances.
In a lively first half, Legends team player Danny Mitchell, a local from New Luce, opened the scoring at 22 minutes. Grant Anderson then doubled their lead with a classic finish, before Andy Stirling pulled one back for the Gal and Robbo XI just before halftime.
The second half saw surprise appearances from committee member Iain Alldred, ex-goalkeeping coach Eric Phillips, and former Scotland international Declan Gallagher. Steven Bell equalized for Gal and Robbo’s side, but David Graham restored the Legends’ lead with a stunning goal.
David McKenna netted the second equalizer for the Blues, and both teams scored late on to cap off a thrilling match. Sean Winter reminded Stranraer fans of his quality with a precise bottom-corner goal, while Darryl Duffy’s clinical finish sealed the outcome.
