Sky Sports have shared footage of the Dundee staff following the first pitch inspection at Dens Park ahead of the Rangers game.
Rangers are still none the wiser on whether they’ll be playing their game in hand on April 10, with Sky Sports’ video showing further covers being applied to the Dens Park pitch ahead of a second pitch inspection.
The footage also shows referee Don Robertson walking and jogging around the 18-yard boxes, with another pitch inspection to come at 3:30pm.
Robertson was spotted speaking to officials after his first look at the pitch, with Alex Rae hard to miss watching on in the background.Rangers and their manager Philippe Clement will have plenty of fingers crossed that referee Robertson gives this game the green light, particularly given that the fixture has already been postponed once.
Initially slated to take place on 17 March, heavy rainfall on Scotland’s east coast led to the Dens Park pitch becoming unplayable and the game being called off barely 90 minutes before it was due to start.
This time around, an amber weather warning has brought with it a night of wind and rain battering The Dee’s home ground once more, leaving it looking unlikely that this decision will be straightforward.
Rangers fans have discussed the possibility of moving the match to Dundee United’s Tannadice Park, but this could well be a bridge too far for Dundee.
With the Gers just a point behind Celtic going into the final round of matches before the Scottish Premiership season splits into two, Clement’s side can hardly afford for this crucial fixture to be pushed back any further.
In other Rangers news, Philippe Clement has reacted to a “crazy” development ahead of their clash with Dundee.
