SOUTHAMPTON AGREEMENT TO RE-SIGN ADAM LALLANA

After leaving Brighton and Hove Albion at the end of the season, former midfielder Adam Lallana (36), who is a free agent, is reportedly nearing a reunion with Southampton, according to Sports Zone in French media.

Lallana progressed through Southampton’s ranks before departing in the summer of 2014 to sign a contract for little more than €30 million to join Liverpool. After that, in the summer of 2020, he transferred for free to Brighton; however, the former England international’s contract with the Seagulls has since expired, leaving him without a club.

Southampton is interested in signing him up. Southampton defeated Leeds United in the EFL Championship play-off final and immediately returned to the Premier League. Sports Zone claims that Lallana and Southampton are nearing a deal, and it might be finalized soon. Lallana is expected to return to St. Mary’s and assist the Saints in maintaining their top-flight standing after a ten-year absence from the team.
