Joe Aribo, a midfielder for Southampton, has made it plain that he is prepared to face the greatest and prove his mettle ahead of the 2024–2025 Premier League season.
Aribo scored four goals and provided an assist to help Southampton win promotion back to the Premier League, capping a respectable season in the Championship.
The 27-year-old expressed his resolve to have a big influence for Southampton in the Premier League in 2024–2025 as he thought back on his first season in the English top division.
During the 2022–2023 Premier League season, Aribo made 21 appearances, starting thirteen of them. He scored two goals.
He is a graduate of the Charlton Athletic academy and has clear objectives for the forthcoming campaign.
“It was challenging, of course… I knew I had to put in a lot of effort, concentrate, have faith in myself, and get my head down,” Aribo said to the Daily Echo.”I believe in myself and feel like I’ve just been getting from chance to chance, and there’s only more to come.”
“I always want to score goals in every game I play in,” Aribo continued. Hopefully, I can score more goals than I did the previous two seasons in the upcoming campaign.
“I’ve been up there twice. Wembley is now two for two, which makes me quite thrilled.”
With the Premier League season fast approaching, Aribo is prepared to carry out his words. He has the ability, the work ethic, and the unflinching confidence in himself to make a big impact at Southampton.
In his squad selection for the 2026 Fifa World Cup qualifying matches against South Africa’s Bafana Bafana and the Benin Republic’s Cheetahs, newly appointed Super Eagles coach Finidi George recently passed over the 2021–2022 Europa League finalist, who has accrued 34 caps for Nigeria.
