Southampton will not be selling Armel Bella-Kotchap to Hoffenheim as the deal has completely collapsed and is “100 per cent off.”
The Saints had recently agreed on a fee to transfer the center-back to Hoffenheim, signaling the end of his time at St Mary’s.
Due to Bella-Kotchap’s injury history, Hoffenheim wanted to conduct a thorough medical examination before finalizing the move.
Hoffenheim reportedly discovered a heart issue with Armel Bella-Kotchap, leading to further discussions between the clubs and the player. However, these talks did not result in an agreement, and according to German broadcaster Sky Deutschland, the transfer is now “100 per cent off and collapsed.”
Bella-Kotchap will not be joining Hoffenheim and is expected to return to Southampton, leaving his future uncertain. The defender spent last season on loan at PSV Eindhoven and has been linked with other clubs this summer.
Southampton manager Russell Martin recently acknowledged the heart issue but assured that it has not caused any problems for Bella-Kotchap.
