SOUTHEND The National League website states that a transfer embargo has been imposed on United.
Just before Christmas, the embargo that had been placed on the Shrimpers was lifted after fifteen months of application.
However, a league statement published online today verified that the Blues have once more been barred from signing players for “non-compliance with league financial regulations.”
The embargo was reportedly announced to the Shrimpers at 2:00 PM on Friday, and they are reportedly seeking to have it lifted.
The Echo is aware that the embargo was imposed because Blues had a winding up case, filed by Stewarts Law, postponed by the High Court for six weeks on Wednesday.
Just before Christmas, the group led by Justin Rees agreed to swap contracts with Ron Martin, the current club chairman, although the agreement hasn’t been formally finalised.
