The summer festivities kick off with a weekend featuring live music, DJs, and a lively atmosphere at the western esplanade. This event promises a great start to the season for families and friends over two days. Attendees can enjoy a variety of drinks from the pier bar, catering to all tastes with both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options.
On Saturday, June 29, the stage will be graced by Valley of the Dolls, an all-female DJ collective, followed by Throwback to the Future Band playing hits from the 50s to the 00s. The following day will feature acoustic performances by The Chris Robson Band, blues and folk by The Long Run, and 60s pop from The Ondines.
Additionally, the Puppet Festival returns to Southend Pier this summer, offering three days of enchanting performances that promise to captivate audiences of all ages. Highlights include traditional Punch and Judy shows, face painting, and a lineup of talented puppeteers throughout the weekend. The festival is free to attend, with standard pier admission fees in effect.

Another highlight is the visit of the Galeón Andalucia, a historic Spanish galleon docked at the pier from August 22 to August 28. This impressive replica of a 17th-century vessel offers visitors a unique glimpse into maritime history with six decks filled with exhibits. Note that the ship is not wheelchair accessible due to its layout and stairways.
Ticket prices range from £8 to £49, including entry onto the pier and aboard the Galeón Andalucia. Visit times vary daily.
