Kelechi Iheanacho’s future is believed to be away from Leicester City, despite the Foxes’ promotion back to the Premier League.
The striker was active in the first half of the season before losing favour this year. To put things in context, the 27-year-old was limited to five appearances in 2024.
Iheanacho’s deal with Leicester expires in June, and according to Fanatik, he has decided not to sign a new contract.
The Nigeria international wants to play in Europe next season, and Fenerbahçe has made an offer to sign him.
This season, Edin Džeko (39) and Michy Batshuayi (30) have led the Turkish club’s offensive. The former’s deal expires in 2025, and he may not be the first-choice striker next season, whilst the Belgian’s contract extends until June, with an option for another year.
Mario Branco, Fenerbahçe’s sporting director, is thinking of replacing Batshuayi, who makes €3 million a year, with the Leicester City star.
It is also claimed that the Yellow Canaries ‘would make the first contact’ with his agency, ROGON, to learn about his salary demands. If Iheanacho agrees to a deal worth roughly €3 million per year, progress may be made in this operation.
