Wolves are on the verge of signing striker Jorgen Strand Larsen from Celta Vigo in a deal that could ultimately be worth £25 million.
Strand Larsen is set to undergo a medical on Monday and will initially join Wolves on loan, with the option to buy triggered if the Norway international makes a certain number of appearances.
Securing a striker was head coach Gary O’Neil’s top priority this summer, and after scoring 13 goals in 37 La Liga appearances last season, Strand Larsen emerged as Wolves’ prime target.
The 24-year-old is expected to be one of two new signings, as teenage Brazilian star Pedro Lima is also arriving this weekend to complete his £8.5 million move from Sport Recife.
The highly-rated right-back turns 18 on Monday and will mark the occasion by signing a five-year contract at Molineux after undergoing a medical.
Wolves moved swiftly for Lima earlier this month, beating Chelsea to his signature after agreeing terms with Sport Recife.
Lima, who has been capped by Brazil at the under-17 level, broke into Recife’s first team at the beginning of the year and is seen as a player with enormous potential.
He joins a growing list of players recruited directly from South America, an important talent source for Wolves in recent years.
Joao Gomes, Wolves’ most recent signing from Brazil, has become a key part of the first XI since arriving from Flamengo 18 months ago.
Strand Larsen and Lima will join winger Rodrigo Gomes as Wolves’ new summer recruits, following Gomes’ £12.7 million move from Braga earlier in June.
