Burnley, Birmingham City both hold Frank Lampard talks

According to Football Insider, Burnley and Birmingham City have both had discussions with Frank Lampard over their respective searches for new managers.

This summer, Burnley and Birmingham City are both looking for a new manager.

In a surprise transfer, Vincent Kompany left the Clarets for German powerhouse Bayern Munich, and the Blues are looking for a new manager after Tony Mowbray, who had been on medical vacation, left permanently.burnley, Burnley, Birmingham City in pursuit of available manager, talks held

Many names have already been connected to both positions, and now that the teams are in different leagues for the upcoming season, they are keeping an eye out for a name that is similar.

Following Alan Nixon’s announcement on his Patreon that Burnley and Frank Lampard were scheduled to speak, Football Insider now states that Birmingham City and the Turf Moor team have both spoken to the fired manager as part of their efforts to find a new coach.

According to rumors, St. Andrew’s is trying to make an appointment that would stick out, and Lampard is high on their shortlist.

More likely to be a Burnley move?

It’s unclear if Burnley or Birmingham City will make an offer to acquire Lampard, but if both do, you have to assume that Burnley would be the more interested party.

The Blues have been connected to several fascinatingg names and Lampard is definitely among them. The feeling is that a drop down awaits Lampard but after time in the Premier League, it would be a big surprise for him to go all the way down to League One.

Although the St. Andrew’s project seems promising, Burnley may be a better choice because they will undoubtedly compete for the top spot in the Championship standings.

After seeing his management career take off quickly, Lampard will be motivated to climb the ladder once more, and the Burnley position may help him in this endeavor.

Resuming in the dugout

This summer has seen a lot of movement in the managerial ranks, which might make Lampard’s return to the field possible.

His tenure at Derby County was noteworthy, and he performed admirably at Chelsea before to the start of action while facing challenging circumstances. At that point, he faltered and left as appropriate, guiding Everton to safety.

Once more, he led them out of danger, but they were unable to follow his example and changed. Regarding the most recent caretaker tenure at Chelsea, it’s best to keep things quiet.

But in the Championship—or, if Birmingham City has its way, even in League One—Lampard could have a good chance to rebuild his reputation in the dugout. Time will tell if either of his admirers make a firm move though amid rumoured discussions.
