‘That’s the reality’ – Bradford City boss has say on striker transfer talk

Bradford City, ‘That’s the reality’ – Bradford City boss has say on striker transfer talk

Following reports of interest in Harry Ibbitson, Bradford City manager Graham Alexander stated that every player has a ‘price tag’.

According to writer Alan Nixon’s Patreon page, Premier League clubs are interested in signing Bradford City’s attacker this summer.

Ibbitson, 18, was set to join the Bantams’ bench for their next League Two matches against Walsall and Barrow. However, he is expected to miss out owing to illness, which is a disappointment.

According to the Telegraph & Argus, Alexander stated in January that every player at this level comes with a price tag. This is the reality of football’s food chain. But for the time being, our goal for Harry is to continue his journey to the senior squad and see where it leads him.

“He’s obviously not in the senior squad, but his goalscoring figures and data from this season are really impressive. He has trained with us 10-15 times since January, and we like him.

“That’s why we’re disappointed that he’s ill this week.” We wanted to give him the opportunity to join the squad. We believe he needs another challenge now, but we’ll see what the future holds.”

Bradford City’s manager addresses their interest.

Unfortunately, Bradford City will not be able to provide Ibbitson with first-team opportunities in their next games.

The exposure to senior football would have benefited him and shown supporters what he is all about.

Neil Redfearn, who previously managed Leeds United and Rotherham United, has led the Bantams’ Under-18s to 29 goals in 29 matches.

Ibbitson, who is 6ft 2inc, is expected to have a successful career in the sport. Bradford City hopes to offer him a chance to play in their starting lineup in the future if he can stay with them.

It would be difficult for them to stand in his way if a top flight team came calling for him, and as Alexander mentioned, every player in his squad has a price, which is just part of the deal with playing in the fourth tier.

The Bantams will be eager to return to League One next year, but they must first ensure proper recruitment.

After losing in the semi-finals against Carlisle United, the past 12 months have been frustrating.

They return to action this weekend against play-off contenders Walsall, hoping to finish strong for the summer season. Alexander’s team defeated Salford City 2-1 in their previous match.
