Cameron Carter-Vickers, a defender for Celtic, is not considered a defensive transfer target for newly promoted Premier League team Ipswich Town this summer, according to Football Scotland.
Kieran McKenna’s team, having been promoted from the Championship, is currently getting ready for life in the top division and has identified areas they want to improve. Ipswich is reportedly interested in Celtic’s Carter-Vickers, and they are eager to add a central defender to their roster.
Carter-Vickers has gained attention following his stellar season with the Scottish champions last year, during which he won both the Scottish Premiership and the Scottish Cup. Carter-Vickers might thrive in the Premier League, but Ipswich is not interested in signing him.
As things are right now, Celtic is the defender’s immediate future, if nothing significant changes. Carter-Vickers played in the Championship during a loan stint in 2017–18 at Ipswich Town.
A vital member of Brendan Rodgers’ squad, the defender is under contract with Celtic till the summer of 2029.
