The resilient Panthers battle back to pursue the tenacious Broncos

The Panthers had to battle the Broncos tooth and nail, but they managed to pull off a tough 14-6 victory. In front of a sizable crowd at Suncorp Stadium, Penrith displayed a great deal of perseverance in a close and thrilling game. They had to overcome a 6-4 halftime deficit to win the game after falling short against the Cowboys the previous week.

In an effort to avoid losing for the fifth time in a row, the Broncos also performed well in the first half. They held their own against the Panthers on defense and displayed a resolve that had been lacking in previous games, particularly while playing near their own tryline.

They also came close to scoring the first try of the game when Deine Mariner chased through on an Ezra Mam kick, only to knock it on and give Penrith a seven-tackle set. The Panthers scored first despite losing their winger Daine Laurie, who was a late addition to the team and left the field in the 11th minute due to a hamstring injury. Jack Cole scored just moments after entering the game after coming off the bench and displaying excellent awareness to place himself in the right spot at the right time.
