Three Barnsley players should be targeted by new Huddersfield Town manager Michael Duff.

Along with Rotherham United and Birmingham City, Huddersfield Town has been demoted from the Championship and will be aiming for an early promotion. As they prepared for the upcoming season, they severed their relationship with German manager Andre Breitenreiter and promptly appointed a new one.

Before beginning his managing career with Cheltenham Town, Duff, 46, played for both teams throughout his playing career. He has subsequently managed Swansea City and Barnsley, and he is eager for his next task at the John Smith’s Stadium. Last year, he led the Tykes to the third-tier play-off final before Sheffield Wednesday defeated them at Wembley. Three players that he should try to entice away from Oakwell this summer to enhance his newly acquired squad are listed below.

He has not signed an extension and his contract expires at the end of the following month, so as things stand, he will be a free agent. The striker has scored 34 goals in the last two seasons at the third division, where he has demonstrated his ability to score goals. Huddersfield Town could be wise to take a chance on the Manchester City youth graduate if he were to sign for free. He was at his peak when Duff got him during his previous year in South Yorkshire.
