Three Wolves and West Brom transfers to be completed this weekend

Local rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers and West Bromwich Albion are set to wrap up a trio of deals this weekend.

It’s been a busy week for the Black Country clubs as Wolves look set to finalise two deals and West Brom are expected to add their second of the window.

The Baggies completed their first summer signing on Thursday as midfielder Ousmane Diakite joined on a free transfer. The Malian, who played 34 times last season and scored two goals for Austrian Bundesliga side TSV Hartberg, has signed a two-year contract with the club option for a further 12 months.

Wolves, meanwhile, are closing in on Brazilian wonderkid Pedro Lima after performing a hijack on Chelsea. The 17-year-old right-back will join from Sport Recife for around €8 million (£6.7 million) plus bonuses, signing a five-year deal.

The Lima deal is expected to be completed over the next couple of days as flights have been booked for the teenager to arrive in England. Medical tests will then be completed before he eventually puts pen to paper on his contract

Wanderers aren’t done there, though, as Celta Vigo striker Jorgen Strand Larsen appears to be nearing a Molineux switch. Fabrizio Romano reports the Old Gold have agreed a €30 million (£25.3 million) package to sign the Norway international.

Talks are also very advanced over personal terms, meaning the 24-year-old is close to completing his move. It could be done as soon as this weekend, though the club’s media coverage could delay the announcement due to the significance of the transfer.

Baggies transfer awaiting announcement

West Brom are expected to follow up the acquisition of Diakite with the signing of IF Brommapojkarna star Tobjorn Heggem. The defender, who will sign on a permanent deal, has passed a medical following an agreement on a fee.

Predominantly a centre-half but regularly utilised at left-back, the Norwegian is set to offer Carlos Corberan terrific versatilty at the back. It’s a clever move as Heggem can directly replace the outgoing Erik Pieters. His height will also be useful if Cedric Kipre departs.
