Tirau hopes to defeat New Zealand.

Penisoni Tirau, a striker for the Fiji Junior Bula Boys under-19 squad, says the team wants to finish as the third team from the nation to qualify for the FIFA u20 World Cup. The squad bid farewell to New Zealand yesterday in preparation for the OFC U19 Championship, which will take place in Apia, Samoa.

“It’s pressurizing for the boys to be the third team to qualify for the World Cup, and it will be sweet to defeat New Zealand, as it is our goal because we have not been able to defeat them in the past few years for the boys qualifying for the World Cup.” Tirau says the team’s objective going in.

The team is confident in their talents and believes that beating New Zealand will be the cherry on top. The Digicel Junior Bula Boys will take on Tahiti first on Friday at 11.45 a.m. in Apia, Samoa.
