Craig Moore has told Philippe Clement that he wants to “see more” of Hamza Igamane ahead of Rangers clash with Dundee.
The Light Blues return to Ibrox for the first time this season for the Scottish League Cup clash on Saturday (21 September) as they look to book their place in the semi-finals of the competition.
After the Premiership victory over Dundee United the previous game, Clement is anticipated to rotate his team, and Go Radio analyst Moore has urged the Belgian to give Igamane his first start for the Gers. He made the following statement while appearing on The Go Radio Football Show on September 19, 1:13:25: “He had a nice little cameo appearance against Dundee United at the weekend.” “I hope he gets going. He possesses that capacity where he is just a little bit different. Let me tell you, he hasn’t come through academy football.
There’s flare, the will to move forward, take people on, and make specific passes that other players might miss. “After my initial sighting, I definitely want to see more.”
Philippe Clement told to make Cyriel Dessers call at Rangers?
Throughout his tenure at Ibrox, Clement has been hesitant to bench Cyriel Dessers, but this Saturday’s match against Dundee might be the ideal opportunity for the Belgian to try things up top.
Although Igamane hasn’t started a game in Scotland yet, he has more than earned the right to do so, as Moore points out. Igamane has looked impressive in his cameo outings since arriving at Ibrox. With the heat on the Gers in the League Cup somewhat off, Clement’s first game back at Ibrox is the ideal chance to give the 21-year-old his first taste of the Scottish game in its entirety.
Dessers will be ready to step in and replace the young striker should things not work out for him. The Nigerian has spent the last year or so leading the line pretty much alone in Glasgow, so he will be very happy to be able to watch most of the match from the sidelines.
It will be intriguing to watch if the Belgian takes Moore’s advise or doesn’t back down in order to guarantee Rangers a spot in the following round.
