To sign a brilliant EFL midfielder if Flemming signs with Ipswich, Millwall must defeat QPR: Look at

Millwall have been linked with a move for Davis Keillor-Dunn in the past and they must win the race if Zian Flemming leaves.

The team may have a busy summer ahead of them as Millwall looks to avoid a repetition of the 2023–24 campaign.

The Lions had a difficult season for the most part, to the point where the team looked to Neil Harris, a former opponent, to help them escape the relegation zone.

After achieving that, the team should now focus on strengthening its roster to prevent a recurrence. However, Zian Flemming is being linked to a transfer elsewhere, so it appears Millwall may lose their star player this summer.

Zian Flemming had a very successful first season with Millwall in 2022–2023; in fact, he was strongly linked to a summer transfer to Burnley.

Several approaches from the Clarets were turned down for the attacker because the Lions insisted on receiving £15 million in exchange for their player.

That never materialised, and Flemming continued to play for Millwall, where he was mediocre but not as good as he had been during the previous campaign.

That hasn’t stopped potential suitors, though, as Ipswich Town and a few Spanish teams are reportedly investigating the possibility of signing the Dutchman this summer, according to London News Online.

According to reports, the 25-year-old’s contract at The Den is set to expire in a year, with the option for Millwall to pick up a further 12 months.

However, Flemming’s management is reportedly eager to get him out of the Championship club this summer. If so, Millwall will need to find a competent successor, and Davis Keillor-Dunn, a former transfer target, could be a good fit.

As mentioned, Millwall have been linked in the past with a move for Mansfield Town attacker Davis Keillor-Dunn.

It was reported by TEAMtalk back in September last year that the Lions were among the sides interested in the former Oldham Athletic player.

It was also mentioned that teams such as QPR, Hull City, Plymouth Argyle, Rotherham United, Blackpool, Barnsley, and Bolton Wanderers were all keen on the player as well.

Now it is obviously unclear if that interest does remain, but given that Millwall look increasingly likely to lose Flemming this summer, he could be a serious option to replace the Dutchman.

Keillor-Dunn has bounced around a few clubs in recent years, but it is with Mansfield Town, where he has just helped them seal promotion to League One, that he is playing his best football.

The 26-year-old had a great season last year, tallying 22 goals and dishing out 10 assists in League Two. He also scored six goals and contributed four assists the previous year.

Keillor-Dunn had an absolutely incredible season, participating in every league match, starting all but six, and averaging 74 minutes on the pitch. Sofascore even acknowledged his efforts for the Stags on multiple occasions.

As previously stated, the attacker scored 22 goals, but considering his performance, he could have easily scored more.

Keillor-Dunn put up an incredible 3.5 shots per game on average, but his accuracy failed him down as just 1.5 of those shots were on goal. In addition, the player squandered an incredible 16 excellent opportunities, meaning he could have scored more goals.

In addition to his goals, the Mansfield Town player was crucial in the creative department as well. According to Sofascore.com, he averaged 2.2 important passes per game and created 14 excellent opportunities for his teammates, all of which helped him earn the amount of assists.

Keillor-Dunn had a great season, and although if he hasn’t played in the Championship or had figures comparable to those in the league above, there may still be questions about him, but he might be a great addition at this level.
