TUST welcomes the wonderful news that the Club is now in the safe hands of the Bryn Consortium. With the new management team in place, signings to be announced shortly and an army of volunteers ready to refurbish the stadium, excitement around the Club has reached levels unknown for many seasons.
We are able to report a very positive outcome to our consultation with members about the board’s proposal to enter into a partnership with the consortium, to acquire a stake in the Club on behalf of supporters and an initial place on the Club board.
Following some questions raised during the first few days of the consultation period, we provided an update with answers to the main queries raised.
We received responses from 68 members with 62 fully supporting the proposals and the board’s decision making process. Six respondents initially expressed some uncertainty. We hope that the attached Q&A briefing satisfied those members. No respondent has stated that they oppose the proposed use of the Forever Yellow Fund (FYF) but a few would have preferred a ballot of all members on this point and/or a vote by all members to elect the TUST representative on the Club board. Reasons for our decision on these matters are set out in the Q&A document (included in update below).
The board appreciate the overwhelming support for its proposals and will now move forward with the investment of £50,000 of the FYF as soon as an acceptable agreement with the consortium has been reviewed by our legal advisors and approved by the board.
