The Indianapolis Colts added a big piece to the offense, and burgeoning quarterback Anthony Richardson’s arsenal, after drafting former University of Texas wide receiver Adone Mitchell, but may not be finished upgrading.

It’s simple to understand why the Colts have such high hopes for Richardson. They have invested heavily in star players like wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. and running back Jonathan Taylor during the last two offseasons, all the while enhancing their offensive skill positions through the NFL Draft.
After all, Richardson entered the game as one of the more physically gifted quarterback prospects to come out of the draft. Before suffering a season-ending injury in Week 5, he passed for 577 yards with three touchdowns to one interception and added 136 yards of rushing.
The tight end position is one that the Colts appear to have disregarded, but that might soon change.
Is Daniel Bellinger a tradeable player for the Indianapolis Colts?
Jelani Woods would be the Colts’ starting tight end if the season began today. He caught 25 catches for 312 yards and three touchdowns the previous season.
Yet, the Colts might be able to acquire New York Giants tight end Daniel Bellinger by trade, according to the Bleacher Report Scouting Report:
From an offensive standpoint, it appears like the Colts ought to have included a possible starter at tight end at some point in the process. Even though the free-agent market is already crowded out, it makes sense to go for Daniel Bellinger, who is now in a tight end room with youngster Theo Johnson and Darren Waller.
Bellinger, who caught 55 passes for 523 yards and two touchdowns in his first two seasons, would offer some upside as a pass-catcher.
Nevertheless, despite outrageously uneven play from a rotating cast of Giants quarterbacks who registered a staggering 104.8 passer rating when targeting him, Bellinger only dropped one pass in the previous season.
NFL teams have seen success matching up rookie quarterbacks with dependable tight ends, and Bellinger might be the kind of player Richardson needs to advance.
