Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler remained tight-lipped as Celtic star Matt O’Riley is poised to become his next major signing.

The Seagulls have already spent over £100 million on new signings this summer, including a club-record £40 million on Georginio Rutter from Leeds United last week. It’s reported that the ambitious Premier League club is looking to make a few more additions before the transfer window closes next Friday, with O’Riley at the top of the list.

However, when asked about the Denmark international during today’s press conference, a smiling Hurzeler kept his plans under wraps, stating that his main focus remains on the players currently in his squad.

He said, “I’m still happy with the squad, and ultimately, I can only work with the players who are here, which is where my focus lies. The other matters are beyond my control. So, I’m really focused on working with the players here and enjoying it.

“I think they strive to improve every day and have a great attitude. They come to the training ground with positive energy, and the rest is out of my hands. We’ll see what happens.”
