HITC understands that Burnley have now turned their attention to a former Premier League Player Of The Year winner for their managerial vacancy.

After Vincent Kompany, who led Burnley back to the Premier League in his first season, was enticed to Bayern Munich to take Thomas Tuchel’s place, Burnley’s summer preparations were called into question.

After the German team lost the Bundesliga title for the first time since Borussia Dortmund won the league in the 2011–12 season, Kompany arrived at Bayern with a massive task ahead of him.

Regarding Burnley, the Lancashire team was demoted under Kompany’s leadership during the previous campaign. It seems that they have focused their search on a former Premier League player.

Burnley moves to acquire the previous player of the year in the Premier League.

According to sources who spoke with HITC, Burnley is now focused on Scott Parker and intends to name him as their next head coach.

After failing to sign players like Frank Lampard and Ruud van Nistelrooy, the Clarets wanted Denmark head coach Kasper Hjulmand to take over at Turf Moor.

According to HITC, Burnley was optimistic that the Dane would accept their contract offer this week and was confident in appointing the Danish head coach.

Burnley has moved on from Hjulmand, even if a deal is almost done, and they are now looking to Parker in the hopes that the former Fulham and Bournemouth player will be the appropriate person to lead them back to the Premier League.
