Reo again put in a lacklustre performance against Hearts. He looked a little off form as he did against theRangers, although as far as Saturday’s game goes, it could be that the travelling involved in international duty with Japan could have had an affect, as Daizen Maeda also looked a little jaded against Hearts.
With Arne Engels looking confident, Luke McCowan showing energy off the bench, and Paulo Bernardo in good form, Brendan has plenty of midfield options for Wednesday’s clash with Slovan Bratislava.
Personally, I think a midfield trio of Callum McGregor, Paulo Bernardo, and Arne Engels would provide a stronger foundation against a well-organized opponent like Slovan. Reo could always be called upon if needed, so a stint on the bench might be the best option for him, starting on Wednesday night. It’s a tough decision, but one Brendan Rodgers will handle without issue when deciding his Champions League midfield lineup.
