Team news

On Friday, the four participating teams will reveal their rosters. Jack Conan and Garry Ringrose are ready for Leinster whenever they resume training. Conan was substituted out of the Connacht match at halftime almost two weeks ago, meaning he was unable to play in the Ulster quarterfinal, and Ringrose hasn’t played since the last Six Nations weekend.

Before deciding whether or not to use center Alex Nankivell, who has been out with an ankle injury, Munster will wait to see how he is feeling. Joey Carbery underwent surgery for a thumb problem, and Tom Ahern appears to be scheduled for surgery for an ankle problem as well. It appears that the last appearances of the two this season were made.

Route to the semifinals

Munster earned home advantage as long as they remain in the knockout stages after finishing first in the URC table. They defeated Ospreys in the quarterfinals the previous weekend.

Third-place finishers Leinster achieved enough to advance to the Aviva Stadium for a home quarterfinal matchup against Ulster. But as the Bulls, who came in second, qualified as well, the South African team was awarded the privilege to host this match, meaning Leinster would have to travel to the southern hemisphere.

If Munster prevails this weekend, the championship match—regardless of the outcome in Pretoria—will take place at Thomond Park. Should Munster fail, the last match of the year will take place at the home field of the victorious team between Leinster and the Bulls, as both teams have higher seeds than Glasgow.
