Negotiations are underway for West Ham to recruit Jhon Duran, a striker for Aston Villa.
Following Wolves’ acquisition of Max Kilman, the Hammers are currently seeking to add a fresh striker to their roster. Luis Guilherme from Palmeiras has already been signed by West Ham, but it seems like Julen Lopetegui wants to add more talent to the attacking lineup. Artem Dovbyk and Alexander Sorloth are two strikers that West Ham has been linked to in recent weeks, but the Hammers have not been able to close a deal with either player.
Fabrizio Romano claims that West Ham has reopened negotiations to sign Duran. The Hammers have made one bid already, and they are in the process of signing him. The 20-year-old player and the athlete have personal terms agreed upon. On X, Romano wrote: “West Ham has already made multiple bids to Aston Villa for Jhon Durán.” Recognize that the most recent offer has a 10% sell-on clause and is now valued at about £35m. Talks are in progress, and Durán and I have already agreed on personal conditions.
The Colombian striker joined Villa from Chicago Fire in the January transfer window of 2023 and has made 49 appearances for the club, scoring eight goals. Last season, he made 37 appearances in all competitions and his quality is undeniable. However, Villa would be open to offloading him if they get the right price. It seems West Ham have submitted a really good offer, and they should be pretty confident of securing his signature. The personal terms have been arranged beforehand, and there should not be any major impediments for the agreement to move through.
Michail Antonio, who has been a great servant to the Hammers for many years, is getting close to the end of his career and would love to move to Major League Soccer. Danny Ings, on the other hand, came to West Ham with a huge reputation as a deadly goalscorer from Aston Villa, but he proved to be a huge bust at the London Stadium.
