According to AfricaFoot, who reported on their website on July 9, West Ham United has put in a bid of £12.6 million for Chelsea striker David Datro Fofana. The news outlet also stated that Everton and the 21-year-old striker’s representatives are in talks about a potential transfer from Stamford Bridge.
In anticipation of the upcoming campaign, Chelsea is eager to raise money by offloading some of its bench players during the summer transfer window, while Julen Lopetegui is eager to strengthen his forward line.
West Ham United to sign David Datro Fofana
With several serious concerns regarding their current striker department, West Ham is eager to bolster their forward line this summer. There are no natural striker choices available at the London Stadium because Danny Ings is desired by Southampton and Michail Antonio is coveted by Saudi and MLS clubs [Athletic, 15 May].
Callum Wilson [KUMB, 2 July] and Youssef En-Nesyri are two of the elite forwards who have been connected, while bids have also been made for Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran.
Tim Steidten, though, is obviously keeping his fingers in a lot of pie this summer and won’t be concentrating on just one goal while the team has to bolster. Burnley supporters may need persuading that Datro Fofana is the answer to their issues after he only scored six goals in 32 appearances for Union Berlin in the 2023–24 season, but Lopetegui is obviously interested if a deal has been made. Go West with me.
